Create Your Own Digital Toolbox.

If the saying "A bad workman blames his tools" is true, then consider this, "A bad computer user only uses one tool".
Whatever happened to the idea of a person having a toolbox?
On the internet, fanboy-ism (where users of one product gleefully bash its rival) is rampant. It's a misguided desire to belong to a group or clan and feel associated with whatever image or attributes it possesses. A bit like feeling successful through supporting a sports team.
Look at how Apple users or Firefox devotees act online. Even The Simpsons have parodied this behaviour. As scores lines go it's a 3-0 result for marketing over the evolution of sharing ideas.
At SAM UK, we want what's best for our customers whether it's low price software licensing solutions or giving you tips on what NAS is all about.
We see the bigger picture.
For clients we offer several software solutions that can help your school or organisation organise studies or work projects. It is important that you choose a program appropriate to the level of detail and planning that you require.
Digital Toolbox
We've blogged previously about the numerous benefits of Windows Live and how even critics admit the likes of Vista has much improved our data backup and restore options.
The current economic climate is the perfect time to discover a whole range of real value for money products and also free software tools.
Freedom to choose the right software is crucial.
Microsoft must have the confidence in its own products to allow users to choose which software program works best for them.
Which is why the announcement that Internet Explorer 8 can be uninstalled from Windows 7 is a welcome prospect. Marketing can work to a point but ultimately, people prefer to make their own choices.
Personally, I prefer to use Internet Explorer for general browsing. However, I also enjoy the wealth of plug-ins available for Firefox and use them like a digital toolbox as necessary.
For example, if I need to utilise a browser plug-in for a task such as identifying an IP address then 'Show IP' is a very useful tool for webmasters.
If you ever need to reset your DNS due to a URL redirect, simply knowing your site IP address by looking at it on screen can save you a lot of hassle.
Take A Note Of It
It's a regular comment by parents on Facebook that they would "not have been able to afford such expensive software" if it wasn't for the massive discounts through our sister site for home users: Software4Students.
Another way students can save money is through a new software tool called Notely.
Notely has several advantages which make it worthy of recommendation. It allows you to write, plan and organise basic notes of all types not only on a Windows PC, but also on a Mac and even on your mobile phone!
Obviously, our Office for Mac 2008 software has some nifty features too but there is just something really cool about being able to take notes on your mobile and then import them into the desktop version of the same program.
Sounds a bit like OneNote for your mobile phone doesn't it? Now there's an idea for Microsoft!
